School teams take part in groups of up to 6, in four age categories: Y6, Y7-9, Y10/11, Y12/13.
There are 20 questions, which are read out one by one.
This part of the event lasts one hour, so teams have approximately 3 minutes to to work on each question.
There will be a short pause half way through where teams can ask for questions to be repeated.
Helpers will be on hand to repeat any questions as necessary.
At the end of the quz, teams submit their answers on a form provided, keeping a copy for themselves. The answers are read out one by one, and teams must mark their own answer sheet.
The announcer will call out to find out who has got 10 questions right, then 11, then 12 ... until only one team is left. They are then declared winners.
If there is a tie, a further question will be used to find a winner.
